Santa Gema’s Spooktacular Halloween!

Learning, creativity, and cultural discoveries across our school!

Ghosts, witches, skeletons, and pumpkins took over the classrooms as students celebrated Halloween at Colegio Santa Gema! From Infantil to Secondary, our entire school enjoyed activities that combined English learning, creativity, teamwork, and cultural discovery.

Little Monsters, Big Smiles: Halloween in Infantil

Our youngest students enjoyed a magical Halloween celebration! Classrooms and corridors were transformed into spooky places filled with witches, ghosts, and pumpkins.

Children participated in creative workshops, crafts, songs, storytelling, and dancing. They decorated their classrooms with handmade creations and enjoyed a special Trick or Treat experience, sharing sweets, stickers, and smiles with friends.

The highlight was the Halloween dance, where little monsters, witches, and superheroes showed off their costumes and best moves!

Spooky Learning Adventures in Primary

Our Primary students enjoyed exciting Halloween activities with their English Language Assistants.

First graders reinforced the letter S through a Mr. Skeleton story and created skeleton puppets, while 2nd Grade explored the letter C by designing candy apples. Both grades also discovered Undas, a Filipino tradition of remembering loved ones, and designed commemorative candles.

Halloween traditions came to life in 3rd Grade through family photographs, «Would You Rather?» games, and guided drawing activities. Meanwhile, 4th Grade students practised nouns and verbs through Halloween Mad Libs, creating funny stories by filling in missing words.

English Workshops for 5th and 6th Grade featured vocabulary quizzes, matching games, and challenging Halloween worksheets.

Mystery, Creativity, and a Halloween Gala in Secondary

Secondary students put their English skills to the test with Halloween Escape Rooms, solving riddles, deciphering codes, and working together to escape spooky scenarios. They also explored suspense through short horror stories and participated in Halloween quizzes and vocabulary challenges.

One of the highlights was our Halloween Gala, where creativity and performance took centre stage. Students brought spooky stories to life through dramatic readings, using expressive voices to build suspense while developing pronunciation, fluency, and confidence in English.

More Than Costumes and Candy: Celebrating Together

Halloween at Colegio Santa Gema was also an opportunity to discover different cultures. Our English Language Assistants shared personal experiences, photographs, and traditions, introducing students to celebrations around the world, from American Halloween customs to the Filipino tradition of Undas. Through these experiences, students discovered that learning English also means understanding other cultures and appreciating their traditions.

From Infantil’s colourful costumes to Primary’s creative activities and Secondary’s mysterious challenges, Halloween brought our school community together.

The Bilingualism Department thanks all our teachers, English Language Assistants, and students for making this celebration truly spooktacular!

Happy Halloween! 🎃👻
