EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION

The Guidance Department is a cornerstone in supporting and monitoring the early development of our youngest learners. From this stage, we work to identify any potential special educational needs or developmental challenges, promoting early interventions that support the child’s overall growth. We aim to ensure a safe and enriching environment that lays the foundation for future learning while respecting each child’s individual pace.

PRIMARY EDUCATION

In Primary, the department focuses on identifying and addressing educational needs, promoting inclusion, and providing strategies that support both learning and well-being. This includes individual psycho-pedagogical assessments and the administration of Habilmind group evaluations. In collaboration with teachers and families, we design and monitor intervention plans, curricular adaptations, and social-emotional development programs.

SECONDARY EDUCATION (ESO)

At this stage, the department provides comprehensive support for both academic and personal development. We promote self-awareness, academic planning, and decision-making in close collaboration with tutors, families, and teaching staff. We coordinate the Tutorial Action Plan (PAT) and conduct psycho-pedagogical assessments to address specific needs.

Through the School for Families, we also offer guidance and support for parents, encouraging open and ongoing communication.

Mediation Team (Coexistence)

The Guidance Department trains and supports a team of 36 Secondary students whose main goals are to prevent school violence and promote a positive social-emotional climate.

The team operates in three key areas:

  1. Conflict Resolution. Through training, research, sharing experiences, and role-playing techniques, students work on the conflict resolution process—defining the conflict, identifying causes, and exploring possible solutions.
  2. Social Skills. The program enhances key social skills in the student mediators, such as active listening, empathy, and assertiveness, among others.
  3. Preventing Bullying. The aim is to raise awareness of this issue within the school community through the following actions:
    • Raising awareness of what bullying means for victims, potential aggressors, and bystanders.
    • Helping students recognize warning signs that may indicate a bullying situation in their classes (behaviors, actions, etc.).
    • Providing tools and strategies to confront bullying, such as breaking the silence and seeking help, speaking up about the situation, offering support to the victim, and facilitating intervention by teachers and the school psychologist.
