INTERNATIONALISATION
Internationalisation is essential because it prepares students for a globalised world, fosters cultural diversity, promotes intercultural understanding, and develops the skills needed to face international challenges. It contributes to the holistic education of students in an increasingly interconnected environment.

Colegio Santa Gema is now officially accredited as an Erasmus+ centre through 2027. Our project is built around four key objectives:
- Connect our UBPI (Project-Based Interdisciplinary Units) with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
- Foster a sense of European citizenship among students and teachers.
- Promote inclusion of all students in Erasmus projects.
- Develop environmentally sustainable projects.
To achieve these objectives, we implement the following strategies:

Colegio Santa Gema is proud to be a Cambridge English Educational Partner, a partnership that strengthens our commitment to excellence in English language teaching. Through our collaboration with Cambridge University Press & Assessment, we offer structured language instruction from Early Childhood through Baccalaureate, ensuring high-quality language training.
This programme allows our students to prepare for official Cambridge certifications, develop key competencies, and access exclusive resources. Additionally, our teachers receive specialised training and innovative teaching materials, while families benefit from support and information throughout the learning process.
Being part of this international network positions us as a reference centre for English teaching, preparing our students for a global future.

Our most recent language certification, Linguaskill, is a multilevel, on-demand online English test developed by Cambridge Assessment English. It allows us to certify students' English levels from B1 to C2, in alignment with the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).
Globally recognised by academic institutions and businesses, Linguaskill uses adaptive digital technology to deliver a personalised and accurate exam. It assesses speaking, writing, reading comprehension, and listening, ensuring full language proficiency recognition. With Linguaskill, the school offers students an ideal solution to efficiently and reliably measure their progress in English, delivering optimal results along with a Cambridge certificate and a detailed score report—valuable for both academic settings and future career opportunities.
Bilingualism
At our school, we believe that bilingual education is the key to unlocking a global future. As an officially bilingual centre accredited by the Community of Madrid, we provide a dynamic and immersive learning environment in which students develop the linguistic and cultural competencies essential for the 21st century. Through CLIL methodology (Content and Language Integrated Learning), international immersion projects, cultural exchanges, qualified bilingual teachers, native-speaking language assistants, and preparation for Cambridge qualifications, we ensure that our students not only master English, but also develop critical thinking and communication skills. Our commitment goes beyond the classroom, preparing students to thrive in an interconnected world and make meaningful contributions to society.

Language Assistants
Our native English-speaking language assistants play a fundamental role in enriching our bilingual education by bringing the language and culture to life in the classroom. Their presence enhances students’ speaking skills, pronunciation, and fluency through interactive activities, conversation practice, and real-world communication. Working alongside teachers, they support CLIL-based learning, making subjects more engaging and accessible. Beyond academics, they foster intercultural awareness, helping students develop a global mindset. As an essential part of our bilingual programme, their contribution strengthens our commitment to providing an immersive and high-quality English learning experience.

International Programmes Abroad
In parallel with our broader internationalisation efforts, the school also promotes global engagement through the following initiatives:
- Language immersion trips to England and Ireland, building partnerships with other educational institutions. Approximately 30% of our students take part in these immersion experiences.
- Twinning programme with RGS Guildford, a prestigious English school with which we maintain an active cultural and educational exchange.
Bilingualism Congress: "Bilingualism – Challenges of the Future", an event that fosters dialogue and reflection on the future of bilingual education.
