UBPI

Our school works both transversally and vertically on interdisciplinary projects. Through these projects, we connect knowledge from different subject areas, aiming to relate learning to students’ real-life experiences, promote self-assessment and reflection, encourage teamwork, and foster creative action.

SELF-AWARENESS

We promote an environment of self-awareness to help students understand their starting point, recognize their strengths and weaknesses, and develop strategies to achieve their goals. This includes formative assessment and reflection tools that drive both personal and academic growth.

DEBATE AND PUBLIC SPEAKING

We incorporate debate and public speaking as essential tools for developing idea expression, critical thinking, and the ability to articulate arguments. These skills empower students to defend their points of view and enrich collaboration and respect for diverse opinions.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP

We cultivate an entrepreneurial spirit by encouraging students to identify problems and propose innovative solutions. Projects are designed to foster creativity and teamwork, helping students envision ways to turn their ideas into real-world outcomes.

COMPUTATIONAL THINKING

We develop computational thinking through activities that integrate logic and problem-solving. This approach not only enhances understanding of technological processes but also prepares students to tackle complex challenges in a systematic and efficient manner.

Poner en marcha este proyecto en Santa Gema ha supuesto un gran esfuerzo y una importante implicación por parte de toda la comunidad educativa. Partiendo de dos pilares fundamentales, el reciclaje y el school garden, hemos tenido que superar retos organizativos, de coordinación y de concienciación para transformar nuestras ideas en acciones reales. No ha sido una tarea fácil, pero gracias a la constancia, la ilusión y el compromiso de alumnos, docentes y familias, hemos conseguido crear un espacio educativo más sostenible, participativo y comprometido con el entorno.

Todo este trabajo tiene como objetivo formar una generación de estudiantes conscientes, responsables y comprometidos con el desarrollo sostenible. Los alumnos, especialmente los miembros del Comité Medioambiental, participan activamente como investigadores, agricultores y guardianes del entorno, desarrollando el pensamiento crítico, la responsabilidad social y la capacidad de buscar soluciones creativas ante los desafíos ambientales actuales.

La labor de la Ecoescuela Santa Gema forma parte, además, de un movimiento educativo internacional impulsado por la Alianza para una Educación Verde de la UNESCO, una plataforma que reúne a gobiernos, organizaciones y comunidades educativas con el objetivo de preparar a los estudiantes para construir un futuro más sostenible. Dentro de esta alianza, el Programa Ecoescuelas y la Fundación para la Educación Ambiental (FEE), a la que pertenece ADEAC, promueven el desarrollo de Escuelas Verdes comprometidas con la educación ambiental y la sostenibilidad.

Gracias a este compromiso y al esfuerzo realizado durante estos años, los centros reconocidos con la Bandera Verde continúan avanzando hacia escuelas más sostenibles, inclusivas y comprometidas con el cuidado de nuestro hogar común: la Tierra.
